After Break Writing Activities to Refocus Your Class
Settling back in after any school break takes a little foresight and planning to ensure a smooth transition. Reviewing rules & procedures and reinforcing routines are a top priority for teachers. Sometimes the top priority for our students however, is to reconnect with friends and tell us all about their break! While I love to hear what my students were up to while away from our classroom, it can be hard to fit in all of the stories so that every child feels heard. Try these clever, after break writing activities to have your students tell you all about it–in writing!
After a school break, help your students refocus with fun newspaper publishing pages that gives students a chance to write all about what they did while on Fall, Winter, or Spring Break. I’ve included journal writing prompts to glue into notebooks for a full week of writing the first week back after break.
