It’s hard to believe we only have 4 weeks left in the year! Yikes, where did the time go?
With state testing finished we’re finally getting back into our normal routine.
And just in time, too! My kids get
a little squirrelly if we veer off too far for too long! We’ll spend this week wrapping
up our Tomie dePaola author study (stay tuned for a 2-part series of posts and
a GREAT BIG Tomie giveaway!) and working through our life cycles unit.
Our teeny tiny caterpillars just arrived today!
I’ve been busy planning all of our year end activities, thinking about how to thank my wonderful parent volunteers, and most of all how to have my kiddos reflect and write about the powerful year they’ve had!
I know you’re probably thinking about the same things so I put it all together in an
Formatted in the style of a graphic novel your kiddos will love, the memory book
includes pages for students to showcase their memories as well as their learning.
Students also reflect and write about the powers of friendship,
laughter, celebration, our words, kindness and respect. Use all of the pages or pick
and choose the superpowers you want your students to remember most!
Here’s a sampling of some of the pages to hit those standards one last time
and have fun doing it!
We’ll be making these for our end of year open house. My little writers
will choose a superpower they have worked hard to accomplish,
then write about how they developed it and why they feel proud.
This writing craft can also be used for back-to-school and includes a beginning of the year
goal setting page as well as an end of year reflection page.
I’ve also included a little bonus to help you show appreciation to parents
and pride in your students as they soar off into the next grade!
